1. General Assignment and context:
SEIMAF is seeking a Steelwork Engineer to work on the Hinkley Point C (HPC) nuclear new build site, currently one of largest construction projects in the world.
An
experienced Steelwork Engineer is required to support the steelworks
(SW) pilot in the delivery of the SW programme. As part of a team, the
Steelwork Engineer will be responsible for preparing and delivering the
documentation required to design and substantiate the secondary steel
platforms.
2. Main activities:
The Steelwork Engineer will ensure the production and monitoring of civil engineering activities of the
buildings on the nuclear island and proposes technical solutions. Work assignments will be received from
and reported to the team Leader.
▪ Producing steelwork platform designs compliant with the Eurocode3 and ETC-C, other relevant
codes.
▪ Liaising with the building layout and piping teams to coordinate the design.
▪ Maintaining the client’s QA procedures in delivering the SW design.
▪ Working with the CAD design in the preparation of the design drawings/models,
▪ Managing engineering changes in line with company procedures,
▪ Liaising with colleagues in Paris (Malakoff),
▪ Resolving identified technical issues,
▪ Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data,
▪ Produces the deliverables for which they are responsible (assumption notes, technical
specifications, calculation notes),
▪ Coordinate CAD Design,
▪ Perform design activities for fastenings and anchorages in concrete,
▪ Develop substantiation reports and complete surveillance of applicable technical documents,
▪ Perform technical verifications of civil engineering documents for their building,
▪ Create and maintain and responsible for the Design Risk Register,
▪ Responsible for anchorage design activities .
