The SEIMAF race involved 25 go-karts, with teams of 3 drivers. A 10 minute time trial for each driver was used to determine the starting grid positions.

Every 10 minutes, the teams were required to change their driver in the pits: the speed of changeovers and strategy lay at the heart of this endurance format.
